Lab doubles in size and offers modern, efficient layout for research and development
WASHINGTONVILLE, N.Y. (October 24, 2018) — Aurochemicals, the internationally recognized manufacturer of natural aroma ingredients for the flavor and fragrance industry, announced today the completion of a new onsite lab at the company’s headquarters in Washingtonville, N.Y.
The new 1,125-square-foot lab features a spacious layout, equipped with new countertops, fume hoods and a modern centerpiece lab bench for preparation and storage of samples, reagents and accessories. Additionally, the lab has a dedicated area for the GC-MS, which is of paramount importance in the identification and quantitation of organic impurities in addition to investigative analyses when applicable. The GC-MS is also used to determine and confirm purity in complex samples when routine GC-FID is insufficient. The overall space allocation in the lab for key pieces of equipment, such as the FT-IR, Refractometer, GC-FID, Polarimeter, Density meter and melting point apparatuses, allows for optimized activity flow in the space as well as overall general efficiency.
Speaking to the advantages of the new lab, Sagar Lachmansing, Aurochemicals’ Vice President of Food Safety and Quality Assurance said, “Our customers will have the benefit knowing our new lab fully supports and aligns with our commitment to quality assurance and quality control excellence. This will give customers real confidence in our products even before they are packaged and shipped”
The lab also features a new, specialized retain sample storage ensemble. This unique sample storage unit allows for a systematic slot storage of samples for retain, investigative and stability or shelf life monitoring purposes.
“Our new lab gives us the capability to expand our operations and offer the best service possible to our clients, said Deo Persaud, Aurochemicals CEO. “It is our goal to always provide our customers with outstanding quality and service, and our new lab helps us to continue that mission here at Aurochemicals.”
The previous lab on-site will be converted to a research and development facility for pilot scale batches as well as a production office. Aurochemicals is also in the construction phase of a new 25,000-square-foot building at its headquarters which will be utilized for product storage and manufacturing. The new building is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2019.
