Fifth Straight 99% Score Further Signals Exceptional Quality, Even During the Pandemic
WASHINGTONVILLE, N.Y. (Aug. 10, 2020) – Aurochemicals, an internationally recognized manufacturer of natural aroma ingredients in the flavor and fragrance industry, has again achieved outstanding Safe Quality Food (SQF) ratings from the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI).
For the sixth straight year, Aurochemicals earned the Institute’s E-Excellent rating. It also earned its fifth straight 99% score from the Institute during its annual recertification. The certifications are held in high regard by food processors, retailers and food-service providers across the world. Aurochemicals’ SQF certification is a testament to the system and processes the company uses in developing and manufacturing its products and the excellent safety and quality of the completed products. It also represents the extensive, robust and successful quality and safety procedures sustained by Aurochemicals during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Institute’s review was completed in July 2020.
The SQF Food Safety Code for manufacturing certification is a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point-based food-safety plan, benchmarked by the Global Food Safety Initiative. Companies wishing to become SQF-certified must go through a list of steps, including registering the company with the SQF assessment database; designating an employee as a SQF practitioner; choosing a level of certification; and eventually passing an audit, performed by a licensed SQF certification body. This analysis includes reviews of documents, interviews with staff and an assessment of the company’s facility.
Additionally, undergoing an audit helps companies improve their process and food-safety-management systems because it helps identify and manage potential risks the applying company faces. Companies achieving certification have fulfilled the rigorous standards of food safety and quality upheld by the Institute.
