With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Sagar Lachmansing is a skilled pharmaceutical quality assurance, quality control and research & development professional. He has broad expertise on a wide range of pharmaceutical manufacturing techniques and technology, including liquids, tablets, capsules, creams and ointments manufacturing, as well as building quality into pharmaceutical products.
Lachmansing is the Vice President of Food Safety & Quality Assurance for Aurochemicals, where he is responsible for food safety related to laboratory operations and the release of products, developing and implementing the company’s overall safe quality food (SQF) plan. This includes ensuring that all of the company’s products meet strict regulatory and compliance standards.
Prior to joining the team at Aurochemicals, Lachmansing was Life Sciences Operations Manager with Activation Laboratories Ltd., an analytical testing laboratory in Canada. In that role, he led a team of scientists performing comprehensive research and analysis across the areas of pharmaceutical, microbiology and biotechnology. Lachmansing’s experience also includes working with GlaxoSmithKline Inc., a manufacturer and exporter of brand-name pharmaceutical dosage forms, as well as serving as a branch manager with Trading and Distribution Inc., formerly Geddes Grant Guyana Ltd., a member of the Neal & Massy Group of Companies and a distributor of pharmaceuticals, agriculture chemicals and food and household products.
Lachmansing has a master’s degree in Chemistry specializing in the structure determination of natural products from the University of Guyana (in conjunction with the University of Toronto), where he also received his bachelor’s degree. He has to his credit publications in major scientific journals in Canada and USA. He also has a certificate in the ISO 9000 Specialist Program from Seneca College in Toronto, as well as numerous other industry certifications and trainings. Lachmansing is an active member of the Canadian Institute of Chemistry and the Association of the Chemical Profession of Ontario.
