Indranie Persaud was born in Guyana, the last child of six. Graduating from high school in 1981, she met her future husband, Deo Persaud, in 1987 and they married in 1988. Both migrated to the U.S. in 1991, seeking to fulfill their dream of a better life. In the following year, they had their first child, Babita. They would ultimately have two more girls, Darshini and Roshinie.

In 1994, Indranie and Deo started their chemical business, Aurochem, which became ICDI Corp. (dba Aurochemicals) with Indranie at the head as President. Diligent and hard-working, Indranie assisted in invoicing, filling orders, preparing shipments, packing, etc as well as undertaking the responsibility of the kids. It was not an easy road which was plagued with many challenges and hurdles but persistence, hard work and sacrifice brought successful milestones. The company, which began with just $300, has grown into a $15 million (sales) company with 15 employees, manufacturing natural ingredients for the flavor and fragrance industry throughout the U.S., Europe, and Canada.

In addition, while the business was growing, the upbringing of their beautiful daughters became the focus of Indranie’s efforts as she provided support, love and care, ensuring that the children’s welfare were in order whilst her husband literally toiled night and day in order to develop their dream business. She also helps manage several real estate companies – Baroda Realty LLC, Persaud Group LLC, Persaud Realty LLC, BDR Group LLC – out of the home office. Indranie and her husband also started the Persaud Family Foundation, supporting Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of USA, Bonei Olam, and numerous other charitable organizations. And they recently started supporting Bike for Chi, benefiting children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Indranie, whose grandparents originated from India and settled in Guyana in the 19th century, loves Indian culture, especially its movies, music and also cooking. She is dedicated, yet simple, very sociable, compassionate and welcoming. She and her husband want to become more involved in their charitable work as well as grow their business to even greater heights.

Deo Persaud

Vice President and CEO

Deo Persaud founded Aurochemicals in 1994 and has more than 27 years of experience in the industry. In addition to owning the company, he leads Aurochemicals’ research and development of new products and processes. His creative ideas and passion for innovation have over the years resulted in an accumulation of unique processes for products that are of paramount importance in Aurochemicals' competitive advantage and success.

Persaud began his career in 1987, working at Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation as a research and development chemist and later a production chemist. In these positions he learned to create new products through research, development and manufacturing. He also learned of compounding and batch processes, incorporating raw materials to make finished products like cough syrups.

At rum producing company Demerara Distillers Ltd. in Guyana, Persaud was a production chemist where he ran the company’s fermentation and distillation processes. He used byproducts from sugar production and fermentation with baker’s yeast to make rum products and also created raw materials for Smirnoff Vodka.

Persaud was also an operator in Brooklyn’s F&C International’s distillation plant where he gained experience in synthesis (manufacturing) of natural chemicals for the food flavor industry. Then, as a production chemist he supervised production of the company’s natural flavor chemicals division, which sold its products to companies such as Snapple, General Mills, Pepsi-Cola, Ocean Spray, Häagen-Dazs, Dannon and Nabisco.

Persaud has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Biology with a concentration in Organic Chemistry from the University of Guyana.

Darshini Persaud

Vice President and COO

Darshini Persaud grew up with a passion for flavors, fragrances and the interplay of ingredients that comprise them. Although she assumed her role of Aurochemicals’ Vice President and Director of Marketing and Sales in June 2017, her company experience started at a young age. From routine administrative responsibilities, Persaud has climbed up the ladder at Aurochemicals through a range of operational roles including customer service, sales, marketing, shipping and laboratory experience.

Persaud’s plans are to follow in the footsteps of her father, Aurochemicals Vice President and CEO Deo Persaud, and further establish herself in the flavor industry with the goal to eventually lead the company. Her current responsibilities include assisting in operations as she learns from President, Indranie Persaud and Vice-President/CEO, Deo Persaud. She also will be directing all marketing and sales initiatives to assist Aurochemicals in achieving its company’s short-term and long-term goals.

Persaud is a recent graduate of Boston University’s Questrom School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with concentrations in Marketing, Finance and Law and a minor in Chemistry. She hopes to use her extensive academic background to enable her to successfully lead Aurochemicals in providing a secure and profitable future with continued longevity.

Dolores Brill

Dolores Brill

Office Manager

Dolores Brill is a seasoned and meticulous professional who services the Aurochemicals team as the company’s Office Manager.

In addition to managing and conducting performance reviews for the front office personnel, Dolores also ensures smooth operation of numerous daily tasks, including purchasing, account payables and account receivables. Dolores also maintains compliance for all outgoing purchase orders and related documentation. In addition to her standard managing responsibilities, Dolores heads the company’s customer service, due to her talents in both sales and client relations.

Dolores has an extensive background in accounting and bookkeeping, serving over 10 years of her professional history in banking positions, where she gained experience in areas such as controlling assets, tracking monthly general ledgers, and reconciling negotiable instruments.
